The Philharmonic Brass Quintet started because of a man as his tuba.... no exaggeration! My father happens to be our conductor, and has always wanted a tuba. One Christmas, mom and I presented him with the gift, and it's only gotten worse! Haha! Dad, aka Robert J. Lagana, has formed the quintet. It consists of himself, first trumpet, Mr. Joseph Chuckra, second trumpet, Mr. Martin Delehanty, first trombone, Mr. Joseph Rompilla, and second trombone, Mr. Robert Generose, Jr.
The quintet has made many appearances at various and sundry concerts. They play a range of music from light classics, to patriotic medleys and hymns, to light pop and dixie. Each is a member of the Symphony.
