The Philharmonic String Ensemble is the newest addition to the Philharmonic family. Each instrument is present consisting of 2 violas, 2 bases, 4 cellos, and about 10 violins. The String Ensemble hasn't appeared at many places because its simply still very new! Its members consist of our senior members from the Symphony and the advanced students in the Saturday Morning Class program.
They have performed in the concerts both at Our Lady of Grace Church and MMI Preparatory school.
Their biggest performance and accomplishment, however, has been the ability to "...perform for the world." The String Ensemble was chosen to perform in the Galaxy Palace Theatre in the Magic Kingdom of the Walt Disney World complex in Orlando, Florida. It was part of Disney's "Magic Music Days" and has been an extreme honor and one of the most memorable experiences we have encountered thus far. They play a range of music from classics, light pop, and broadway tunes.
